GB 6CrW2Si Hot-Work Tool Steel

GB 6CrW2Si Hot-Work Tool Steel is a reference entry for industrial cutting tools and blades. The composition, hardness, heat treatment and application guidance are summarised below for engineering reference.
Standard composition: C 0.55–0.65 %, Cr 1.00–1.30 %, W 2.00–2.50 %, Si 0.50–0.80 %, Mn ≤ 0.40 %, V ≤ 0.30 %, balance Fe
Hardness: Annealed HB 217–270; hardened HRC 53–58
Heat treatment: Austenitise 850–900 °C, oil cool, double temper 200–250 °C
Properties: A Chinese-standard W-bearing tool steel. The 2.5 % W gives good hot hardness and wear resistance. Tough and resistant to thermal shock.
Applications: Hot shear blades, wood-cutting saws, leather and rubber cutting knives, paper slitter blades for tough applications.
Cross-reference: ≈ DIN 1.2550 (similar), no precise Western equivalent.
