GB YG15 Tungsten Carbide (K30–K40)

GB YG15 (GB/T 30892, ISO K30–K40) — 15 % Co tungsten carbide, HRA 89–90. Compare with YG6 and YG10 for stamping dies.

GB YG15 (GB/T 30892, ISO K30–K40) — 15 % Co tungsten carbide, HRA 89–90. Compare with YG6 and YG10 for stamping dies.

GB YG15 (GB/T 30892) is a 15 % Co tungsten carbide — between ISO K30 and K40. HRA 89.0–90.0. The highest Co content in the standard YG series, with the highest impact resistance and the lowest wear resistance. Used for stamping dies, heavy-section shear blades and impact-prone wear parts where K20/K30 would chip.

Standard composition: WC 85 %, Co 15 %, no grain-growth inhibitors, WC grain 1.5–2.5 µm

Hardness: HRA 87.5–89.0 (≈ HRC 74–76)

Heat treatment: Sintered at 1,360–1,440 °C, no further heat treatment

Properties: High-Co carbide for the toughest impact applications. Lower wear life than YG6X but survives blows that would shatter finer grades.

Applications: Recycling rotors, automotive shredder residue (ASR) granulators, primary shredders, hammer-mill inserts.

Cross-reference: ≈ ISO K30–K40.
